Laser welding is a contact-free, highly precise process in which a focused laser beam locally heats and fuses components. This technique enables narrow seam geometries, minimal heat input, and excellent repeatability. It is employed in demanding applications across the automotive, aerospace, medical technology, and mechanical engineering sectors.

WSM Sites for Laser Welding
At our Wehingen and Reutlingen facilities in Baden-Württemberg, we produce precise welds to efficiently, reliably, and consistently execute customer projects across southern Germany.
Our modern laser welding cells combine cobot systems and high-quality welding technology for series production. For repairs, small batches, or hard-to-reach areas, we also employ mobile handheld laser systems.
Technical Equipment and Laser Welding Systems
We offer flexible solutions for a wide range of welding requirements using a combination of cobot cells, handheld systems, and certified protective enclosures:
1. Stationary Laser Welding Cell with Cobot (TruArc Weld 1000)
Our automated welding cell ensures maximum repeatability and process stability for series production:
- Cobot system: 6-axis robot (e.g., UR10e), reach 1,300 mm, repeatability
±0.05 mm - Welding source: FRONIUS TPS 320i C PULSE (3–320 A), optionally with CMT technology
- Work cabin: Outer dimensions 3,605 × 2,454 × 2,818 mm; table 2,000 × 1,000 × 100 mm with hardened perforated plate
- Process features: Online seam tracking (Smart Seam Tracking), simultaneous welding and setup, CMT for thin-walled components
2. Handheld Laser Welding & Cleaning (LightWELD 2000 XR)
For repairs, special components, or hard-to-reach areas, the LightWELD 2000 XR offers a mobile high-performance solution:
- Power: up to 2 kW CW (2,500 W peak)
- Material thicknesses: stainless steel, structural steel, aluminum up to 8 mm; copper up to 3 mm
- Speed: up to four times faster than TIG welding
- Programs: over 100 welding and cleaning programs
Safety: Stationary Handheld Laser Cell (BWG LaserCell)
To ensure maximum safety, WSM employs a fully enclosed protective enclosure from BWG, specifically adapted for the LightWELD system:
- Laser protection class 4, CE-certified
- No emission of stray radiation
